Our Guest Cabins
Vacationing in our guest cabins is a unique experience
There are 14 cabins on the farm for guests aged 16 and up. Some of the cabins are secluded and offer total privacy, Jacuzzis, sauna, private bathing pools, and a breathtaking view. Another 8 guest cabins in the Artists’ Village are located near the winery and coffee house and overlook the Zin River valley.
There are no television sets in the cabins – enabling guests to enjoy the quiet of the desert.
Carmey Avdat Winery
Our vineyard was planted in the summer of 1999 on the remains of an ancient 1,500-year old farm.
The modern vineyard utilizes the ancient terraces and irrigation system. The winery was established in 2005. We cultivate six different varieties of grapes from which we produce 12 varieties of wine in small quantities of up to 1000 bottles of each variety. Our wines are produced by cold, lengthy fermentation, and aged in oak barrels. Minimal intervention in the fermentation and aging processes ensures that our wines retain their unique desert flavor.
Guests are invited to tour the winery and visitors’ center where they can taste and purchase our wines. Carmey Avdat wines are only available on the farm.
Café Mona
Stop for a few minutes to choose one of the enchanting corners of the coffee house and relax in the atmosphere of the farm.
Enjoy tasting wines and cheeses in a romantic atmosphere, have a light meal with friends, relax over a refreshing cup of coffee and cake, or find a quiet corner to work. (there is WIFI and a charging station).
Café Mona offers a choice of baked goods and desserts that complement the flavors and aromas of the wines from our family winery.
Café Mona is open Mondays to Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Breakfast for guests is served in Café Mona.
Tours and Activities for Groups
A unique and exciting experience
Carmey Avdat was established in the spirit of agro tourism, and combines innovative modern agriculture with the production of boutique quality wines, lodging, and tourism.
We offer unique and exciting activities for private groups, companies, and organizations. Groups can tour the farm, learn about the project of solitary farms in the Negev, grape cultivation, and the process of producing wines in the past and present. Participants in group tours have the opportunity to taste our wines, enjoy a meal, and to bottle, cork, and label their own personal bottle of wine.

Explore the Farm
With Eyal’s Audio Tour
We prepared and marked the paths on the farm many years ago, and we love to see our guests touring the farm using our illustrated map. An audible tour of the farm is now available through a mobile phone application that is compatible with the map of the farm. Visitors can listen to Eyal’s explanations about the different sites while they tour the farm. Eyal has also recorded two podcasts about the farm and about irrigating vineyards in the desert.
Ecology and Agrotourism
Ecology has been a part of our Raison d’etre since the establishment of Carmey Avdat Farm. We have invested extensive effort to promote ecology, and have cooperated with leading researchers in developing innovative and sustainable solutions. We emphasize ecological tourism and transmit a message of sustainability as part of our obligation to the public. We have found that agrotourism is a viable source of income in addition to promoting ecology and preserving the environment.
Social Involvement
We believe that a vacation is more enjoyable if it has additional social significance and contribution to others, therefore we offer a unique vacation experience that supports the Israeli Epilepsy Association. Guests in our cabins contribute NIS 25 per night, enabling us to provide free lodging to parents of children with epilepsy. These vacations offer caretakers respite and allow them to gather strength and continue their intensive care.
Our guests talk about their stay:
