Group Tours and Group Activities
Carmey Avdat Farm was established to combine agrotourism, innovative agriculture, production of boutique wines, ecological lodging, and tourism. The farm is open to organized groups and offers tours of the farm, team-building days for workers, and other group activities.
Visitors to the farm learn about the isolated farms in the Negev, the processes of cultivating grapes and producing wine in the past and present, taste our wines, enjoy a meal, and take home a souvenir bottle of wine that they have bottled themselves.
Activities and tours are catered to the needs of each group. Team development activities, professional study tours about ecology, architecture, tourism, and other topics are available.

Guided Tours
Toscana in the Desert: The story of the establishment of Carmey Avdat Farm, grape cultivation, and wine production
Tours of the farm are suitable for small or large groups of up to 100 persons. The tour includes three different sites and activities:
- Lookout point overlooking the vineyard and the farm with explanations about the history of the farm, the vineyard,, our ecological approach to agriculture and, and agro-tourism.
- The winery and visitors’ center – The visitors center includes an archeological exhibit of amphorae (ancient wine vessels) from the wine cellars of the ancient city of Avdat that were loaned to us by the Antiquities Authority. The visit to the winery includes an explanation of wine production in the Negev Highlands.
- The Wine cellar –Visitors learn about the process of winemaking, taste our wines, and view a short film the winemaking process.
The topic of the tour can be selected according to the character and interests of the group. Topics include the family’s story, our Bedouin neighbors, living with crises, innovation as a way of life, ecological desert architecture in the future, and ecological tourism.
Cost: NIS 1750 for groups up to 25 participants
Groups of more than 25 participants: NIS 70 per person
Guided tours last from 45-90 minutes depending upon the group and topic.
Meals
The Café Mona coffee house offers buffet meals, picnics, or brunches for groups. Meals for groups of 8 – 90 participants can be prearranged.

Winemaking Activity on the Farm
Experience the thrill of bottling your own bottle of wine. For groups of up to 90 participants
Take part in one of the most significant processes in wine production – bottling the wine. The participants leave with a memorable experience and a souvenir bottle of wine. This is an ideal activity for workers’ outings, special events, or a personal gift for someone special. A commemorative label for the series can be added to the bottles for an additional cost.
The activities in the winery include:
- An explanation about the farm, the vineyard, and the ancient and modern winemaking industry
- Wine tasting
- Preparing personal bottles of wine: filling the bottles, corking, closing the bottles with a capsule, and labeling.
The activity lasts approximately 2 hours, depending on the size of the group and the number of bottles.
Price: NIS 190 per person. Minimum of 30 bottles
Retreats for Workers
Create an inspiring day for your business or company workers in the relaxing atmosphere of the farm. These relaxing days encourage team development and dynamics and can be planned to suit your objectives and the character of your group.
We provide everything you need to create a private, air-conditioned workspace.
